UX Writing Challenge - Day Eleven


Scenario: An elderly user is doing a Google search to find an easy way to buy contact lenses online.

Challenge: Write a title and meta description for a website that sells subscription contact lenses delivered to a user every 30 days—convince them to try it.

Headline: 60 characters
Body: 120 characters

Our monthly contact lense subscriptions helps you avoid the strain and headaches of empty stockpiles. Try today.


My thoughts

With it being for an elderly user, I avoided some of the sillier puns that immediately came to mind. No 'sight for sore eyes' here. I like the headline, I think it rolls off the tongue well and sums up the product nicely. You're not buying the lenses, of course. You're buying vision.

That said, using the 'strain' and 'headache' terms was calculated, as both are symptoms of not wearing lenses. I'm happy with the word 'stockpile' here. Not having the medical item you need can be a real pain, so suggesting you can get a dependable stockpile each month is reassuring.
